Obituary of Richard A Holoka

Richard A. Holoka, 58, husband of Sharon Moomaw Holoka, died suddenly on Tuesday December 1, 2009 at Phoenixville Hospital.
He was born in Phoenixville, the son of Andrew Holoka and the late Louise Wenger Holoka. Rich graduated from Spring Ford High School in 1969. He worked for Bell Telephone and Verizon for 40 years and also was president of Unit 22 of the Communications Workers of America Local 13000 (CWA). He was past Chief Chauffer and Trustee of the Humane Fire Co. in Royersford, past assistant Chief and Trustee of Ridge Fire company in East Vincent and Life member and served as secretary of Ridge Fire Co. ; Also he was a trustee of Liberty Fire Co. in Spring City and life member and life member of the Friendship Fire Co. in Royersford. He was also a membero fteh Spring City American Legion Thomas W. O'Connor Post 602. He enjoyed spending time camping at his cabin in Virginia. He also was an NASCAR Fan.
In addition to his wife and father he is survived by Three Children: Step Son: Scott Wenger husband of Terri of Souderton and David Holoka of Spring City, and a daugter: Heather Holoka of Sping City. And two step grandchildren: Edison and Michael Bergey and 2 grandchildren Kyle and Casey Wenger.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on saturday Decemebr 5, 2009 at the ZionLutheran Church at 11am. Burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Parkerf ord. Visitation will be held Friday evening at the Shalko Grace & Strunk Funeral Home from 6-8pm and also on Saturday morning at the church from 9:30-10:45am, In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia Brain Tumor Research Fund PO Box 827790 Philadelphia PA 19182.
