Jean "John" Ray, 71, Pottstown Jean "John" Ray, husband of Barbara C. (Patterson) Ray, 71, died Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his home in Pottstown. He was born in England to the late Albert and the late Ida (Hawtree) Ray. John was a veteran of the US Army from 1966-1969, serving in The Vietnam War. He owned his own business and worked as an auto electrician until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, boating, skiing, ice hockey, and working on automobiles, especially classic cars. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Karen Ray, and a brother, Leon Ray. Friends and family are invited to attend his memorial service to be held on Sunday, May 19, at The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge St., Spring City, PA at 1:00 PM. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
