Clarence Bennett, Jr., 91, widower of Edna Mae Behm Bennett, died early Thursday morning in The Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
He was born on October 29th, 1924, in Millville, NJ, to the late Clarence L. and Annabelle Earl Bennett.
Clarence served on Iwo Jima in the Army Air Corps during WW II.
He was one of the first registered Respiratory Therapists in his field, working as Chief at Norwalk Hospital and Phoenixville Hospital. He also worked, saving lives in the emergency room at Newcomb Hospital in Vineland, NJ.
He graduated from The University of Valley Forge. Education and the value of words were an important part of his life; he always pushed his grandchildren to excellence in their education, taking delight in their futures.
Clarence loved to volunteer his time at Valley Forge Cabin Shop and Park House Rehab Center, sharing his wit and love with everyone he encountered.
Clarence is survived by his daughters, Carol and Judith, and sons Elliott and Rob; seven brothers and sisters, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. His sharp mind, love of music, love of family, and love of country continues to live through his family.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at The Grace Assembly of God, 1271 W. Bridge St., Spring City, PA, on Tuesday, July 26 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, with The Rev. Jack Mason officiating. Burial will be following the service at The Valley Forge Baptist Cemetery, Valley Forge Road, Valley Forge, PA 19481
