Bruce Slifer, 78, Phoenixville
Bruce Carl Slifer, 78, husband of Helen (Brower) Slifer, died Monday, May 30, in Manatawny Manor.
He was born in Spring City to the late Luther and the late Gertrude Slifer, and was a graduate of the former Spring City High School.
He worked in the shipping department of The Spring City Knitting Mill for 40 years, and was a member of The Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 602, Royersford VFW, and The Liberty Fire Company where he participated in the bowling league.
His heart, his acts of kindness, his patience, and his goodwill will be the legacy that will be passed onto the future generations. In that , he will live forever.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, Bruce is survived by his stepson, Terry Eagle, his step grandchildren, Gary Eagle, Tanya Eagle, Randy Eagle, and Gregory Eagle; and his step great grandchildren, Jeff and Meadow Eagle.

Brude was born in Spring City a son to the late Luther and Gertrude Slifer. Bruce resided over seventy five years in spring City he was emplyed for many years in shipping for the former Spring City Knitt. He was a member of the Liberty Company of Spring City where he was a member of the bowling league; Also the Spring City American Legion Post 602. Thomas W. O'Connor
Bruce had a kind heart, always showing acts of kindess with patience and goodwill. His family will be sure to pass on his legacy to their future generations, in that Bruce will live forever.
He is survived by Step son: Terry Eagle, and Step grandchildren: Gary Eagle, Tabya Eagle, Randy Eagle and Gregory Eagle. and a great grandson: Jeff Meadow Eagle.
Relatives and frineds are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday at 11am at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Bridge and Church Streets Spring City PA. The Rev. Paul Thornhill will officiate. Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Spring City. Viewing will be held at the funeral home saturday from 10am to 11am.
