Elizabeth Betty Pillar, 88, Spring City
Elizabeth "Betty" Pillar, 88, passed away, suddenly, on Monday, March 21, in E. Vincent Township.
She was born on a farm in Upper Providence to the late Frank and the late Mary (Smith) Pillar.
She worked as an Administrator for The Sears and Roebuck Company in Philadelphia and at The Spring City Knitting Company.
She was an active member of the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, attending daily.
Betty liked to Polka dance in Maine and Michigan, and collected polka music. You could find her three or four days a week at the casinos playing the slots.
She is survived by her niece, Rita Bernas and nephew Joseph Pillar and many great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence Pillar, Frank Pillar, and Joseph Pillar, and two sisters Marie Cinciripino and Katherine Gamaza. In addition, she is predeceased by her niece, Eleanor Lynch.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Monday, March 28 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 3640 Schuylkill Rd., Spring City, PA 19475, with The Rev. Charles O'Hara officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28 from 9:00 to 10:45 at the church. Burial will be at The Holy Trinity Cemetery in Phoenixville.
