I am very sad, and send warm thoughts to Ruth and the family.
Pat and I worked together, with adjacent offices, for almost a decade, when I was president of Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, from 1978 to 1987.
I remember him for his warmth, his energy, his competence and, above all, his honesty and his integrity.
Pat worked well with people whose view of the world was different from his, never trying to force his beliefs onto others; he was loyal; and I missed him when I moved on to another position. I will never forget his proactive help and advice whenever I encountered any difficulties; and I will never forget his kindness to new faculty and staff.
Pat cared about others more than himself, and he will be missed.
I am sure Ruth and his family will be looking back at a life well lived.
