Edward A. "Knobby" Custer, 88, beloved husband of the late Ruth K. (Lightcap) Custer, died peacefully at his Parkerford on Saturday, December 26, 2009, surrounded by his family.
Knobby was the son of the late Horace Custer and the late Anna Collins Custer. The Royersford, Spring City area had been home to Knobby most of his life and he had many cherished memories of the area and the people.
During World War II Knobby served in the U.S. Army and took part in the Battle of the Bulge.

His family was the joy of his life and his two granddaughters were a constant source of pride. Knobby enjoyed anything that involved spending time with his family whether it was playing cards, vacationing at the Jersey shore or traveling to Florida. Spearheaded by Ruth, they generously opened their home on many occassions to family members.
