Sadie Weney, 100, Pottstown Sadie Weney, 100, widow of Walter J. Weney Sr., died Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Seasons Hospice. Born in Philadelphia, PA, May 10, 1914, daughter to the late Charles and Sarah Raines, Philadelphia. Survived by son, Walter, J. Weney, Jr., wife Vonda (Ruoss) Weney, East Coventry, PA. Daughter, Elaine R. (Weney) Dinnocenti, husband Victor, East Coventry, PA. She has six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and two great- great- grandchildren. Sadie resided in Spring City since 1948, 2006 lived at Bard of Spring City three years, lived with daughter since 2009. Sadie was a longtime member of Spring City Methodist Church, Spring City Library Women's Club and Liberty Fire Company Women's Auxiliary, where she enjoyed bowling in a women's league for many years. She was a member of the Phoenixville Senior Center where she attended since 1985. She loved going to the Phoenixville Senior Center, she went several times a week for many years, making lots of friends, enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards and just socializing. Sadie drove herself to the Senior Center in the beginning (1985) and more recent years enjoyed the services of Rover Transportation of Chester County where she met many wonderful drivers who took great care and concern for her (Thank You All). She also enjoyed the time she lived at Bard in Spring City, she loved all the many friends she made, many of whom looked out and cared for her, she enjoyed all the socializing and activities there as well, Thank You to many. Over the years Sadie also like to read, gardening, walks, sewing, quilting, shopping and just going out with family and friends. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and most recent great grandchildren. Services will be 11:15 on Friday, November 28, 2014 viewing will be 10-11 AM. With the Rev. Keen officiating. Interment will be at Limerick Garden of Memories in Limerick.
