Thomas "Jim" Mosteller, husband of the late Evelyn May "Evie" Mosteller, of Royersford PA, died Thursday, October 9, at the Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA (Do not delete this line. It does not print. Text that is to appear on web must be entered after this line)«
Jim was born in Spring City on March 15, 1929, a son to the late Daniel and Catherine (Sweeney) Mosteller. Jim resided most of his life in Royersford and was a resident of Chestnut Knoll of Boyertown.
Jim was a member of the United States Navy for twenty years, serving in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He attained the rank of Engiman, 1st Class. After retiring from the navy, Jim worked several jobs lastly as a school bus aide for Custer's Garage
An avid animal lover of dogs and rabbits, Jim enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows. In addition, he was a member of The Thomas W. O'Conner American Legion Post 602 in Spring City, the Royersford VFW Post 6341 and the Italian Bocce Club in Royersford. Jim was a member of the Pottstown Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his two children, son, Thomas F. Mosteller, husband of Rosemarie, of Worcester, and daughter, Karen E. Barthlow, wife of Jeffrey C. of Baltimore, Maryland; and his three grandchildren, Kyle Thomas Mosteller, John Morgan Barthlow, and Matthew Shook; and his brother Robert "Pete" Mosteller, husband of Anne of Spring City. He is predeceased by his sister, Patsy Stoltz, Brother Daniel "Bunky" Mosteller, and grandson Andrew Justin Mosteller.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, October 13, at 11:00 A.M. at The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge St. Spring City, PA 19475 with the Reverend Steve Minford officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be immediately following the service at The Limerick Garden of Memories with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his memory to The Chestnut Knoll Memorial Fund.120 West 5th street Boyertown PA 19512.
