Ruth M Algeo, 93, widow of the late William J. Algeo , died Sunday in Seasons Hospice on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
Ruth was born in Oaks, PA to the late William and the late Etta L. (Brown) Miller, she lived all her life in Oaks.
A 1938 graduate of The Phoenixville High School, she worked as a medical receptionist for Dr. Giannopoulos, Dr. Harrop, and Dr. Rothenberger, retiring in 1995 after 27 years. At the same time, she worked at Dettra Flag Company and was a demonstrator for Dutch Maid.
Ruth was a life time member of Green Tree Church of the Brethren in Oaks, where she taught Sunday School; in addition, she was a Girl Scout Leader and was a member of Lookout Class and Patchwork quilt group.
Ruth also volunteered her time for the Community Nurse Program and the Cancer Center at The Phoenixville Hospital.
Ruth is survived by her two children, Patricia L. Algeo of Oaks, and Barry Algeo, husband of Barbara of Limerick; three grandchildren, Beth Murphy, wife of John, Brian J. Algeo, and Brad E. Algeo, husband of Brittany; and three great grandchildren, Rachael Murphy, Ethan Murphy, and Brynn Algeo; and several nieces and nephews including Judy Rittenhouse, wife of Dennis of Spring City.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service at The Green Tree Church of The Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA on Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 AM, with The Reverend Gordon Lewis officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
