Rick and Maggie, our deepest condolences for your loss. We've only had the pleasure of Jonathan's company a few times and remember him as a fine young man. We can not imagine the pain of losing a child and just want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Mason is a handsome little guy, what a lovely treasure to leave behind.

All of us at America 4R Marines NPO send our deepest condolences to the Munz family. We can only imagine your pain and heartbreak. We know that our 3/2 Marines that passed before Jon met him at Heavens Gate welcoming him home.
My son also served in 3/2 from 2004-2007. I was the Battalion Parent coordinator that worked with the BN CO from 2006-2009.
3/2 is a very tight family and Jon and your family will always be a strong thread of the 3/2 family blanket. Believe me Jon will never be forgotten, his brothers will make sure his legacy lives on for many, many years to come.
I pray you find the strength through family and friends at this very tragic time in your lives.
God Bless you all
Semper Fidelis

To the Munz family, Jackie, and especially my very dear friends, Matt & Jenney:
I'm so sorry for the loss of Jon (aka) "Jarhead." He absolutely WAS a kindred spirit, that really did care a ton about his family and friends.
Jackie, I know he loved you SO much because of past talks we had about life and love, and know he absolutely adored Mason.
Matt & Jenney...I hope your memories of him are positive ones, and you're staying strong, and not thinking about the times spent bickering, as ALL siblings do, and you're thinking about those special one on one moments that only you guys had that no else had--because I'm positive that he would want you to think about those good times. But this was where his physical human form's journey ends. It was HIS destiny and path. God created him for a reason, so try and think about the things you learned from him and why he was put into your lives for 29 years-- because there WAS a reason, you just might not know it yet, but you will in due time.
He will be missed, of course, but he will continue to live on thru Mason.
This time you're going thru is tough, and it will be for a little while, but you all know he wouldn't want you to stop your life and grieve about his loss--he would want you to continue on and persevere in his absence.
I'm sure he will continue to do his duty to protect and serve you all, and will continue to protect you and watch over you. He will always be with you, and chances are, if you think he's with you, he most likely is, just not in the form that we are used to. Stay strong and united.
My thoughts and prayers are with you ALL!
Love Always,
AK
