Obituary of Kristian W. Holvoet
Kristian William Holvoet, 56, Phoenixville
Kristian William Holvoet, 56, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Kristian was born December 20, 1967 at Valley Forge General Hospital in Phoenixville, PA to Elaine (Bishop) Kennedy and the late John Edward Holvoet. He graduated from high school in 1985 in Easton, Maryland and earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He entered the US Air Force Officer Training School in 1989 and he served honorably for 3 years as an aircraft maintenance and munitions officer. Following his military service, he continued his education and completed his master’s degree in computer science at Clemson University. Over the course of his career he worked as a software developer at Lockheed Martin, Oracle, and most recently Vanguard.
Kristian’s hobbies included reading and watching movies. His favorite genres were science fiction & fantasy. He also enjoyed building model rockets and LEGO sets, playing strategy video games, and walking his dogs, June and Mabel. His highest priority was his family and he enjoyed sharing his hobbies with them.
He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Pottstown, PA.
Kristian leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years, Erin Marie (Hammond) Holvoet, two sons: Eli Joseph and Samuel Charles Holvoet; his mother, Elaine B. Kennedy; his sister, Katherine Holvoet; and his stepmother, Doris A. Bell. He was preceded in death by his father John Edward Holvoet; his paternal grandparents, Joseph Henry and Elizabeth (Verraest) Holvoet; and his maternal grandparents, Merle Witherell and Charlotte Isabel (Simmons) Bishop.
Friends are invited to a memorial service on Friday, April 12th at Valley Forge Baptist, 616 S. Trappe Road, Collegeville, PA with Pastor Scott Wendal officiating. Visitation begins at 10AM with the service to follow at 11AM. Burial will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, please use those funds to do something Kristian would have done with his family like go to the movies, go to a ballgame, or make something with your kids.
