Marlene M. (Greer,) (Kappenstein) Rosmos
Marlene M. Rosmos, wife of the late Richard Rosmos, passed away at home on December 30, 2023. Born on May 26, 1935, to the late James and Elizabeth (Rohaly) Greer, she was one of eight children.
Marlene graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia, where she played cello in the orchestra. She carried her love of music throughout her life, spending many years as a piano teacher, playing organ for her church, and singing in the choir. She worked alongside her husband, Richard, in Devlin Rosmos Kepp Funeral Home, for over 20 years before retiring.
Marlene resided in North Coventry for over fourteen years. She was a dedicated member of St. Theresa of Calcutta parish in Limerick, PA. She was a founding member of St. Basil the Great parish in Kimberton, PA, and was a member of many clubs, including St. Basil the Great Women’s Club, the Lion’s Club of Kimberton, and Soroptimist International of Phoenixville. Marlene enjoyed her free time by getting involved within her community, and spent much of her time volunteering with Meals on Wheels and Salvation Army. She was an avid crocheter, and created a beautiful new afghan for every new baby in the family.
Surviving Marlene are her five children: Diane, Ralph Kenneth Jr. (Deborah,) Sandra Artim, Sharon Santillo and James. Also surviving are her thirteen grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Dan,) Kelsey, Erin (L.J.,) Stayce (Jeff,) Jason, Justin, Rob (Renee,) Brian, Amanda, Eric (Serena,) Tylar (Megan,) Haven and Riley, and her twenty-six adored great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Ralph Kenneth (Kappy) Kappenstein in 1976, and J. Richard Rosmos in 2020, her sons-in-law Robert Artim and Thomas Santillo, and her seven siblings: Evelyn, Buddy (James,) Sis (Elizabeth,) Margie, Patrick, Donald and Joseph.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday January 4, 2024, at St. Mary the Assumption Church, 212 Dayton Street from 8:30 - 10:00 AM. The Funeral Mass will begain at 10 AM at the Church. Burial will be immediately following at St. Ann's Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
