Obituary of Janet E. Kandler

Janet E. (Halteman) Kandler, 78

Janet E. Kandler, wife of Theodore “Ted” Kandler, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 18, 2023.  Born July 4, 1945, to the late Caroline Lee and Eugene Halteman, she was one of four daughters.  A lifelong member of the Spring Ford Community, Janet was a 1963 graduate of Spring Ford High School.  She was a long term employee of  John R. Hollingsworth Co, where she was a Buyer.  Later in life, she worked for Genuardi’s Markets in the Deli Department, where she knew everyone’s name and greeted everyone with a smile. 

Janet was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority, taught Sunday School at the then Spring City United Methodist church and was a member of the Trinity Lighthouse community.

Janet enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was an ardent traveler.  She often spoke of the fond memories created while on trips with her family and grandchildren.

Janet leaves behind her husband and constant companion, Theodore “Ted” Kandler, her son Emmett Trythall (wife, Jennifer), and step daughter Cherie Stauffer.  She also leaves her three grandchildren:  Kelly, James and Amanda, and three great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents and three sisters:  Sandra Boettger, Carol Vining, and Beth Yanocha.

Friends and family are invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11 AM at the Trinity Lighthouse  - 66 S. Limerick Road, in Royersford.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
