Obituary of David M. Hicks

David M. Hicks, Reading, PA

David M. Hicks, 56 of Berks County, passed away at home on December 6, 2023.  He was the son of Janet Hicks and the late Paul Hicks, Jr.  David was married to best friend and wife Laurie Wadsworth Hicks, they were inseparable.    An Owen J. High School graduate, David pursued the fast lane and loved Drag Racing at Maple Grove Raceway.  He even owned his own race car.  David’s love for cars included his 1976 Corvette Stingray. David also enjoyed participating in car shows and doing projects in and around the house.  He had a tender place in his heart for his 4 cats, particularly Bandit. 

David leaves behind his wife, Laurie, and step children:  Daniel Kovach and Kevin Shalkowski; Sisters:  Paula Buckwalter (husband, Matt), Danielle D’Angelo (husband, Steven) and Sharon Montalbano (husband, Harry), and brother:  Jeremy Collins (wife, Laura), many nieces and nephews and fur family. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Hicks and brothers:  Gary and Dale Hicks.

Memorial donations in David's memory can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
