Obituary of Marsha M. Beard

Marsha M. Beard, 83 of East Vincent Township

Marsha M. Beard, beloved wife of Robert L. Beard, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2023.

Marsha was born January 16, 1940 in Pottstown, PA., the daughter of the late A. Everett “Butch” and the late A. Christine Morrison Mauger. Marsha was a longtime resident of Parkerford and East Vincent Township. She graduated in 1957 from Spring-Ford High School. Marsha and Bob enjoyed attending many of Spring-Ford's sporting events, and was a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. Marsha and Bob also traveled to Hawaii to enjoy their home away from home as often as possible. While in Hawaii earlier this year, they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary at Punaluu Black Sands Beach, HI.

Marsha welcomed many people of the community with her smile at the Collegeville Branch of Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust where she retired from as the Branch Manager. Prior to working at the bank she sold Tupperware for many years where she became a leading Sales Manager. She loved people, and everything that Marsha did was so well done.

A woman of faith, Marsha and Bob while raising their children, were members of the Spring City United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and played in the Bell Choir. Marsha and Bob eventually returned to her childhood roots of attending the Parkerford Church of the Brethren where they were married May 17, 1959.

Marsha’s most beloved accomplishment was in raising her two boys and loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marsha had a love for cats starting at an early age and never was without one to share her company with. Her two most memorable were Spooky (20 years) and Scooter (18 ½ years).  She also enjoyed feeding the birds and animals that visit their property daily for a treat.

Marsha leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Robert “Bob” Beard; two sons: Gary Beard and Mike Beard; two sisters: Mary Keeler and Barbara Parsons; four grandchildren: Jeremy, David, Shane and Amber; and five great grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Caleb, Christian, and Malcolm.

In celebration of Marsha's life and journey to be with the Lord, friends and family are invited to Parkerford Church (PFC) 20 Rinehart Rd, Pottstown, PA 19465 for visitation with the family on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 10 to 11:30 am followed by the Funeral Service at 11:45 am. A luncheon for all family and friends to attend will follow services. Burial will be private.
