Larry  P. Wensel, 79, East Coventry

Larry Wensel, 79, husband to Sally Ann (Hoey) passed away Wednesday February 15, 2023.  Born in 1943 in East Coventry to the Late William and Cora (Miller) Wensel, Larry was a graduate of Spring Ford High School.  Larry was a hard-working soul working in the trucking and transportation industry his entire life.  Starting at his own family trucking company, Wensel Trucking, out of Linfield PA, he continued onto Mrs. Smith Pies, Preston Trucking, and then finally retiring from ABF Freight in November 2022. 

When he wasn’t taking care of business driving truck, Larry enjoyed visiting Cape May, NJ, eating at his favorite restaurant The Lobster House.  He enjoyed working in the yard taking meticulous care of the lawn and landscaping.  Larry also enjoyed going on an annual Cabela’s trip with his two sons and travelling out to Lancaster County with the love of his life Sally.  He was committed to family and will be dearly missed.

Larry leaves behind his wife of twenty nine years Sally Hoey Wensel, two sons:  Scott Wensel (wife, Maria); Michael Wensel (wife, Shelly) and Stepdaughter, Melody Althouse (husband, Scott) Six grandchildren:  Paige, Brooke, Courtney, Lauryn, Ashton and Kristin and two Great Grandchildren:  Weston and Reese.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday February 21 in Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135, Spring City, PA 19475

Visitation at the Funeral Home will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 21 prior to the service at Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home.

Burial will be immediately following at the Brownbacks UCC Cemetery,
