Linda was more than an aunt to me; she was the mother I never really had before. After a lengthy courtship, she married my uncle, who had not only raised his son, Joe Jr, but also raised me since the age of five, thus, fulfilling the father role in my life. Linda was my uncle‘s “sweetie” as such, she enhanced his life, as well as the lives of his children. She was my daughter’s Nana and so so proud of her accomplishments. We are a very small family. Linda had a huge family and welcomed us as her own without hesitation. She was a classy lady with a wealth of knowledge, experience, & advice to hand down. She gently guided my uncle at times with parenting advice and Joe Jr and I benefited greatly! She also helped guide me through college, marriage, parenthood, and eventually the caring of my aging/ailing aunt who lived with my daughter, Christina, and I until her own passing almost 3 years ago. She and my aunt, “JP “were close sister-in-laws, sharing frequent phone calls and drop in visits at the family home on Benburb Road. JP truly adored Linda and appreciated her in many ways, especially how she loved and cared for “Bugs” over the years and continued to love his family after his sudden passing.
I am comforted knowing that all three of them are now looking down upon us from heaven above. My sincere condolences to her son, Mark, and her brother, Michael, and his family. Linda will be missed by so many family and friends that were lucky to have had her in their lives. God bless her soul, and may she rest in peace.
