Obituary of Machiko Kuehner
Machiko Kuehner, 49, Phoenixville
Machiko Kuehner, 49, wife of Richard Kuehner and mother to Sarah Kuehner passed away early Sunday morning, May 15, 2022 after a valiant five-year battle with cancer.
Machiko was born January 20, 1973, in Tokyo, Japan to Masasaku and Setsuko Ozeki. One of three daughters, Machiko had an adventurous spirit, and was anxious to travel and see new places. When her father would travel for work from Japan to the US, Machiko wanted to go too. She took every opportunity to travel to and in the United States as a Student Exchange program participant. Fearless, Machiko, knowing little English, left home for good and came to the US to attend University at College of St. Elizabeth (now St. Elizabeth University). She not only graduated from the University with a bachelor’s degree, but also became immersed in speaking English.
Machiko had a very sharp mind. After college she worked in Information Technology at various companies, eventually working at Accenture where she met the love of her life Richard (Rich). It was right at this magical time in her life that she also became a naturalized US citizen. Machiko and Rich married in 2009 in Hawaii surrounded by family.
When their daughter Sarah came into their world in 2015, Machiko’s life was complete, and she cherished being a mommy.
Machiko leaves behind her adoring family:
Husband: Richard, daughter, Sarah, Parents: Masasaku and Setsuko Ozeki, Sisters: Ikuko Ozeki, Masako Miura, numerous nieces and nephews in the US and Japan. Richard’s family who loved her dearly; Parents: Dale and Mark Kuehner; Andrew (Molly) Kuehner and Jeff (Mary) Kuehner.
