Mr. Omrod you worked with me i had no
Artistic skills. You taught me anything i
Put together was my art.
You took my hand and a pencil
And had me draw my hand and then
You said something like expand on the drawing
I still am not good at art. However you also
Taught me there has to be those who appreciate
Art otherwise the artist is nothing
Thank you. Michael Sites Spring-Ford Class of 1972

I remember Bob's puppet shows when I was a kid. The Omrods lived several doors away from my relatives, the Springers. Bob was a contemporary of Franz and Johanna Springer. Loved his personality, cheer and creativity. He will certainly be missed in the Royersford community.

To this day I use some of the lessons I learned in art class with Mr. Omrod. I teach preschoolers. I am teaching some of the same things to those children that he taught at S-F Junior high.

When I think back on my time at SFHS there are a few teachers who stand out. Mr.Omrod was certainly one of them. He was creative and enthusastic and nuturing. He encouraged me to pursue big dreams. He was always there..to support..to advise..to cheer on. As I get older, I realize just how much of his time and energy he gave to the school and his students. I will be forever grateful that I got to know him and that we were friends. When I think of him now..I remember his big laugh and twinkle in his eye....He will be missed...but never forgotten.

I will miss Uncle Bob very much. He taught with my mom, Joyce Krasley Joyce, while at Spring-Ford. He came out to visit at our farm next to Bechtel's Dairy for over 50 years. I will remember many suppers with Uncle Bob and my family at O'Grady's, Spring-Ford Diner and Strawberry House near Pennsburg. He was a major part of our family for all of my life. He loved a trip to the casino, talking on the phone, going out to supper, trips to the Dutch Country and especially a wonderful bus trip.

I had the pleasure of learning from Mr. Omrod during my 7th grade art class. He was such a creative and enthusiastic being. Heaven has gained a truly talented person who will continue to light the sky and give us beautiful sunsets and cast light over beautiful Victorian homes! Rest In Peace Mr. Omrod!!!
