Eric R. Polchin, husband of Vanessa (VanLoan) Polchin, 42, died Monday in King of Prussia. Eric was born in Hazelton, PA to the late Joseph Polchin, and to Catherine (Brennan) Polchin Mattie. He was a 1989 graduate of Hazelton High School. Where he played on the basketball team. He later graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Eric was a medical salesperson for EMPI. A member of The Spring City Fellowship Church, Eric enjoyed playing basketball with his son and assisted with the Coventry Soccer League as a coach. He was a devoted, kind, and caring family man and friend; and loved his dogs. Eric is survived by his wife Vanessa, his mother, Cathy (Brennan) Mattie, wife of John Mattie; his son Ethan Polchin, sisters Maureen Malloy of Royersford, and Cathy Fornatero of Hazelton and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, Joseph Polchin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 7:00 PM, Tuesday at The Spring City Fellowship Church, Glass Alley and Queen Street, Spring City, PA with The Reverend John Shantz officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30-7:00 PM Tuesday at The Spring City Fellowship Church, Spring City, and a memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 11 at 10 am Visitation will be held in church from 9am to 10am at St. Gabriel's Church 122 Wyoming St. Hazelton PA. Interment will be held at the Holy Trinity Church Cemetery, Hazelton, PA In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his memory to The Eric R.
