Dear Joan, Karen and I will surely miss VIrgil , he was our go to, to see how to fix things. He was always willing to take me to many doctor appointments or even ride along many places. He was first to jump in and help carve the turkey , dip the ice cream Karen had a helper with 30 people in our house. I remember how good It felt when Virgil said he would help mow at Zions. Joan you must eat keep yourself busy, we are praying for Virgil in his new home. You have many fond memories to help sustain you. God Bless you Joan we are praying for you and your family. Love Ralph and Karen

Syl and I join so many in offering our finest condolences on the passing of Virgil. We recall many joyous conversations shared over a cold one at the Libs over the years, where Virgil was beloved by all.

Virgil & Dink were a pair! They had fun hunting and fishing and just riding around in the pick-up truck. He also helped Dink, and later with me, selling hoagies at Parkhouse. I'll miss his visits to the office. He had a unique sense of humor. I'll also remember the eulogy he gave for Dink when he passed. I hope they're having fun now on the other side. Take care, Joan. We'll keep in touch.

Uncle Virgil could be found sitting with kids at the kids table on holidays and standing on the corner out front of my Nanny's house on Christmas eve before the church service. On one of our many camping trips he taught me how to fish but I wouldn't bait my own hook cause I didn't like putting the hook in the worm. Uncle Virgil would get under Aunt Joan's skin on many occasions but you could see the love they had for each other and she wouldn't stay made long. When my boys and I would walk up with my mom to their house one of boys would always try and sit in his chair and if you have ever been to the house you know that nobody sit in his chair but him. One could always see my Uncle Virgil at a fire call or at the funeral home directing traffic so many people knew him for his way to make you laugh at non sense No one loved him the way my Aunt Joan does and it showed everyday. Uncle Virgil will be missed by so many especially Aunt Joan and his children. My prayers to all of them.

Dear Joan & family,
Virgil will forever be in our hearts. His many visits to Bean's Lumber will be sorely missed. He loved to make us laugh. He was such a close and best friend to Dink and the rest of the family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He literally became a fixture at the business, not to mention the time he worked there. Karen will always remember the hunting and fishing adventures with Virgil and her Dad. Cherish the memories as we always will. Know that you are all in our hearts and prayers. May God's love and peace guide you through this most difficult time.
God's Blessings, Darrell & Karen Lewis

Uncle Virgil and my Dad loved each other and we went camping almost every weekend in the 70’s. Kids have video games today . However, Thanks to my Uncle Virgil and My Dad Bill Emswiler, we as kids, had the adventurous times camping, cooking on camp fires , hiking and seeing many different places . See you on the other side . I love you Billy Emswiler

Prayers for comfort for the entire Emswiler/Finkbiner families. I had the honor and pleasure of serving with Virgil through the Fire and Ambulance in town. His laugh was certainly contagious, whether at a church picnic, town parade or just bumping into him at a store or restaurant, he could always make me smile. He had a unique sense of humor that I loved. He will be missed by many.
Love you all.
