Don was a cousin to my father (Walter M. Clevenstine Jr) and an "Uncle" to me when I was growing up in Spring City. During the past few years Don and my mother, Reta Clevenstine, would talk on the phone regularly. They discussed football, the weather, people and places they both remembered, and the challenges life brings to those in their eighties and nineties. It was a good social connection for both of them. I'm glad I had a chance to stop by and visit Don, Don Jr, Kathy and Todd last November during a visit to the Spring City area.
Both my mother and I want to extend our deepest sympathy to the whole Shaner family at this time.... Walt Clevenstine
