Obituary of Janet M. Ewing

Janet M. Ewing, 79, wife of the late Irvin Ewing of spring City, died Tuesday in Seasons Hospice in the Phoenixville Hospital.
Janet was born in Spring City to the late Samuel Jefferson "Jeff" and the late Wilhelmina (Slifer) Slaughter.
Janet resided most of her life in Spring City, employed at the former PHILCO Ford and Pennhurst and also for American Machine and Tool until her retirement. Janet was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. And the Liberty Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Janet enjoyed avid Quilting, general seamstress work, needle Point and Cross Stitching and crocheting, and of course shopping QVC.
Janet is survived by a son: David Scott husband of Kristin Ewing of Key Largo, FL and sisters: Nancy McCain of Spring City, Grace Collopy of Parkerford, and Judy Jones of Tyrone.
And two grandsons: Matthew Ewing and Sean Fredericks.
She is predeceased by a son: Allan Ewing husband of Mary Ewing. And sister: Ruth Ann Schmidt
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday in Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home Bridge and Church Street, Spring City. With the Rev. Paul Townsend officiating. Burial will be in the Limerick garden of Memories.
Visitation will be from 9-10:30 AM Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Janet's walk team for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk held annually this year on September 29, 2012 in Wilson Farm Park, Tredyffrin Township, Chester County.
