Ronald J. Emery, age 78, husband of Sylvia (Stroop) Emery died Tuesday in The Oaks at Avon Nursing Home, Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Royersford to the late Clarence Warren and Katherine B. (Dussman) Emery. And resided most of his life in Royersford, Limerick Township Ron was a 1951 graduate of the former Royersford High School. He was employed as a Truck Driver for the former Jones Motor Co and the Scout Trucking for forty years until his retirement. Ronald was a member of Masonic Lodge #553 in Spring City, and a life member of the Friendship Hook and Ladder Fire Co. of Royersford and, and a life member of the Liberty Fire Company in Spring City. He enjoyed golf and bowling and was an avid sports fanatic. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rhonda wife of Blaine Stokley of Pottstown and Renee wife of Kenneth Fleck of Phoenixville; one sister, Doris Christy; a brother, Clarence "Clay" Emery, Jr,; three grandchildren, Rick husband of Dena Garofolo, Broc, and Kendra; and six great grandchildren. He is predeceased by grandsons Jason and Marc Garofolo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, PA with the Reverend Dennis Keen officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Spring City.
